In honor of Black History Month, we partnered with four Black creators who are breaking barriers and paving the way for creatives around the world. From launching agencies to working on projects in the metaverse, we sat down with Raymond, Taiwo, Ceej, and Clarie to talk about what it means to make a living as a creator in our series “Creative Commerce.” Check out our spotlight on Taiwo below.

Taiwo Ade might be a UX researcher by day – but she has a serious side-hustle as a creator and blogger sharing content for her 60,000+ followers across TikTok and Instagram. Through her work, she’s transforming the way brands and creators show up and bring users along in the IRL world and metaverse.

Taiwo’s TikTok (@taiwo.ade) is a must-follow, and it’s where she shares motivating day-in-the-life videos, mini vlogs about her incredible travel experiences, and general tips about landing brand deals and working in tech.

For our Creative Commerce series, she dropped major knowledge about how to land 5-figure partnerships as a creator.

“What’s really important is knowing our value and what we bring to the table,” Taiwo said. “It doesn’t matter if you determine a price that’s hourly, fixed, or value-based – at the end of the day, just say it with conviction because the rate is the rate.”
